Catarina Guimaraes is a full-time student and young author who was born with Cerebral Palsy.
Born prematurely and with Cerebral Palsy, Catarina has found it a challenge to fit in. While she always tried her hardest at sports, it was difficult to keep up with other kids who had no disability, however all that changed when she became a para athlete.
Now Catarina has been ranked as high as 1st in the US for women sprinters with Cerebral Palsy and she has recently been selected as the only girl to play in the Junior Disabled Soccer Team, on their tour to Ireland.
Catarina has also been writing short stories for some time and her success with these has prompted a series of books called The Death Garden series, which is available through Amazon, just search her name.
In her spare time, Catarina loves competing in sports and reading. She also loves writing short stories and finds fascination in Greek Mythology. She volunteers in helping younger athletes to improve, instructs in Taekwondo and participates in charity walks and runs for cancer and disabled sports.
Catarina’s hope is that she will continue to write more books in her series. She plans to give proceeds to the Adaptive Track and Field Team she is a member of, so that others can experience the thrill and excitement she does when competing.
